TWS III tournament
The next Myth tournament is on it's way!

It seems that Paris is going to host The Winter Series tournament for the third time. Here is some info from the Mariusnet forums:

"it's been a work in progress. no special date ill just drop it.

to prepare:
if you want to captain/make a team:
have 2 other 'think' permanent alternatives that will be co-captains with you.
you will need at least one player to show up for the draft, which will be posted at a later date. there might be a large number of teams, which may or may not be so great and will have an impact on how the tournament is executed and run. registration is a vital process to begin any tournament, and all players who register as captains must be dedicated to keeping in touch with their team.
General Info:

  • 3 Per team core
  • Only players who can stay consistent, reliable and available throughout the tournament should sign up as a captain.
  • We are aiming for at least 16 teams, which will be healthy. More than that will result in circumstances changing as well.

if you want to participate:
make sure you have your name and login ready. any participants in the tournament that have been investigated, caught, and sentenced will most likely be thrown out of the tournament, no questions asked. All members, from ancient fart veterans to noobs to egotistical badass mythers are welcome to play in this tournament. This is a 'no hard feelings' tournament and would be run best if you did not squirm with who you teamed with and instead dealed with it (and imagine the popular review of your team chat emulsion in the forums). Myth is fun once again, so get pumped up!

Get ready to register soon! I'm sure if I see you talking here I'll see you around for the tournament. Spread the news and tell others. If you feel responsible and confident enough perhaps you should get your own squad of redneck mythers together to start practicing and get others involved.

If you're interested in helping out during this tournament please contact me. I am also looking for one more "wiseman" to help me throughout the tournament, especially during the begging stages. There will probably be only one more spot open for this but all are welcome to apply to that as well."

Make a team and get ready for some good fun then! For more info, take a look on THIS thread on Mariusnet forums.

Name Changers won Myth World Cup 2009
Myth World Cup 2009 tournament has come to an end!

In the final match, the bottom bracket winners - Butterflies Flying in Formation (better known simply as Name Changers, since they change their team's name every 3 matches or something like that) beat top bracket winners - ThunderCox 4-1 in the finals and 3-1 in sudden death. Congratulations BFF! Films from the match can be found here (one of the films is missing).

The top 3 finishing teams of the 2009 Myth World Cup tournament are:

1) Butterflies Flying in Formation (BFF)
2) ThunderCox (Tcox)
3) 12 elephriend goblins in tirri's house (EG)

Thanks to Grim, Toxyn and everyone else who made the tournament possible this year.

Myth World Cup 2009
Myth World Cup is here again!

Players from all over the world once again join together to form teams to compete in this most eminent Myth tournament ever. Will the 11th World Cup be as good as the previous ones? We'll see it soon.

Because we were working on updating our site and my router burned on Wednesday and I lost my Internet connection, there wasn't any information about this year's Myth World Cup yet, but it has already started. Anyway, there are 24 teams in the tournament and Qualifying Round has already come to an end. Double Elimination round started this weekend. Rosters are already closed, so the only thing left to do is either to play (if you registered) or watch the games (if you didn't sign up).

Site update
Updating of our site has finally come to an end!

We have already finished our work on the English version of the site and at present Soulblighter.net is entirely completed in two language versions: Polish and English. Pamphagus, one of our "The Nine" clan members has helped us a lot in this process, thanks Pamp!

I also added a link to Pyro's Myth Starter Guide in "Myth" section. It's a good guide for all beginning (but may be useful for anyone) Myth players. Don't forget to check it out :)

Myth II 1.7 released!
Project Magma team has finally released the newest patch for Myth II, version 1.7!

In 1.7 a lot of annoying bugs have been removed and many useful features have been implemented. Among those are support for hi-res quicktime cutscenes which can be found here, a resizeable overhead map and a new detail texturing system. Maps in game look now much better, they use high resolution 24-bit detail textures! Check it out, it's really amazing!

Bungie Map Textrures, which is a plugin featuring detail textures for all the original Myth II solo and multi-player maps can be found here.

Moreover, if you don't own the full version of Myth II, you can download a free demo of the latest version of this game, which includes 4 solo levels and 2 netmaps! Download the demo version here.

The Myth II 1.7 Read Me, including the full list of changes, can be seen here (PDF).

There is nothing left but to thank Project Magma for their hard work and wish the players to have fun with the latest version of Myth!
